Everyone loooooves a storm...



The news goes crazy. Out-of-town family starts calling to make sure no-one's drowned in the undertow. Don't get me started on these guys. It's just one storm after another with them!

It reminds me of a story in The Epic of Gilgamesh, Tablet 11. See, this guy, Ut-Napishtim, was warned by a god that there would be a great flood, that would destroy all of mankind. And that he should, y'know, build a - uh - 'great boat.' Also that he should collect all the living things of the earth. And so forth and so on... until he's releasing various birds, beaching his ark, and offering sacrifices. It was either before or after a similar story that it either inspired or ripped off. Who knows?



So, anyway, just let me warn you - better start building (or at least buying) a boat, and/or ark.
